Belfast woman arrested, charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs
BELFAST — A Belfast woman was arrested April 14, following a probation check at 7 Poors Mill Road, according to an April 15, press release from Belfast Police Chief Robert Cormier.
Cheryl Briggs, 60, has been charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of schedule W drugs, both class A, and unlawful possession of schedule X drugs.
The probation check occurred at approximately 3 p.m., and was coordinated with Maine Probation and Parole.
During a search of the residence, officers located approximately 50 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 7 grams of fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms, scales, and other evidence of drug sales. As a result of the investigation, Cheryl Briggs was taken into custody at the scene.
Briggs was transported to the Waldo County Jail, where she is currently being held pending an initial court appearance of June 8th, 2026.
