Send two powerful new voices to the State House
Voters in our area can send two powerful new voices to the State House this November. Madison Cook and Rhiannon Hampson both have the knowledge and know-how to fight for and deliver solutions that will make life better for people.
I got to know Madison, who is running to serve the people of District 39, because we both served as school board members as vocal supporters of our public schools. I was struck by her tenacity in her write-in campaign for schoolboard and she’s used her voice and position on the board to be a tireless champion for students, educators, families, and public schools.
As a State House candidate, she’s brought that same energy and passion, listening to constituents across her district, talking to people at the doors, and crafting a strong policy platform around housing, jobs, and more livable communities based on what she is hearing from people.
I met Rhiannon when I was running in the Democratic primary for House District 41 and knew immediately that she belonged in the State House advocating for the people of District 43.
Rhiannon can best be described as a force of nature. She’s a self-proclaimed policy wonk, a farmer, a mom, and has already delivered policy wins at the local, state, and national level. From housing to economic development to creating resilient communities, she knows the issues inside and out. Operating a farm with her husband, she knows the challenges faced by small businesses and working people. And she approaches the work of policymaking by building relationships and talking to people.
I can’t wait to see what these two amazing leaders can accomplish in Augusta.
