Madison Cook will serve her district well in Augusta
I had the pleasure of meeting a few days ago a young woman I would like to endorse for a seat in the Maine House of Representatives District 39. Her name is Madison Cook of Belfast.
Moving to Northport two years ago, and at 67 years old, I am proud to call it home. I came here from Connecticut by way of Boston, and have been involved in politics most of my adult life, and feel I know a special candidate when I see one. Madison is that person.
I had read her platform, and agree with her issues on taxes and building new housing, as most people would, it’s her thoughts on education that stand out. As a university professor for over 40 years, I understand the value of an education. So does Madison. Her teaching experience and desire to advance vocational training here on the coast proves this.
Madison is also interested in my personal concerns, such as Medicare issues I was having, as well as issues getting energy assistance. She is aware so many of my generation who have retired to the coast look upon such services as vital to our ability to live independently. She has an honest and genuine concern for our well-being. That’s important.
Madison will serve the district well for many years with pride, wisdom and honesty. I am looking forward to seeing her in Augusta for a long time.
