Sara Skrivanich does the homework, hears people out, treats town staff and residents with respect

I am writing in support of Sara Skrivanich for the Camden Select Board.
I served with Sara on the Camden Budget Committee, where she has chaired the last two budget cycles. The most recent budget cycle was the hardest since I joined the committee. We came in facing a large net increase, the fallout from the 2024 revaluation, and some genuinely contentious questions about how the town pays for the services people rely on. Not everyone agreed.
Sara was steady through all of it. She came prepared, and she insisted we ground our decisions in the actual numbers. When committee members disagreed, and we often did, she made room for every voice and kept us focused on the work. By the end of the cycle, the Select Board adopted the committee's full recommendation. That does not happen unless the chair has earned trust from people who do not always see things the same way.
Some of the hardest questions were about public safety funding, and Sara handled them with care. As the spouse of a first responder, she knows what we ask of our Police, Fire, and EMS professionals, and she kept residents at the center of the conversation.
Camden has more difficult fiscal choices ahead. The cost of running the town is growing faster than our tax base, and whoever we elect will have to weigh hard tradeoffs honestly. I have watched Sara do exactly that. She does the homework, she hears people out, and she treats town staff and residents with respect.
I am glad to support Sara, and I hope you will join me in voting for her on June 9.
