Rockland homeowners interested in building additional dwelling unit may qualify for funds, info session Sept. 15
Thanks to the pilot program ADU Boost, Rockland homeowners interested in building an additional dwelling unit on their property may qualify for up to $10,000 in project costs.
The public is invited to attend an information session on Monday, Sept. 15, beginning at 5 p.m., in the Community Room of the Rockland Public Library, 80 Union Street.
The new ADU Boost Pilot Program is a partnership of the Midcoast Council of Governments (MCOG), Bangor Savings Bank, and three pilot communities – Bath, Brunswick and Rockland. By incenting new rental units, the program is intended to help address the region’s housing needs.
Through ADU Boost, participating homeowners may qualify for an incentive grant equivalent to 10% of the qualified project costs – up to $10,000. Eligible households must finance at least $50,000 in project costs, meet Bangor Savings Bank’s financing criteria, and have household incomes at or below 150% of the area median income – currently $150,300 in Rockland. Additional provisions apply.
Incentive grant funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
