BELFAST – Robert "Bob" Gerard Kolment, 87, peacefully passed away on November 2, 2017 at Sussman House in Rockport. Robert was born on April 8, 1930 in Manhattan, New York to William Kolment of Vienna Austria and Marie Ouilette of Gaspé, Quebec.

Robert grew up in Manhattan and graduated in 1948 from Cardinal Hayes High School. He married his beloved wife, Yolande, and they had four children: Nina Hallbert, Richard Kolment, Dennis Kolment, Patrick Kolment and later a son-in-law; David Hallbert.

Bob and Yolande were married for 66 years. Robert served in the Air Force from 1948-1949 before going to work at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a Chemical Operator.

In 1995, Robert and his wife retired to Maine to watch their grandchildren grow up. Robert had six wonderful grandchildren: Jared, Rachel, Matt, Desneige, Perry and Chase. Robert will forever be cherished in the hearts of all his family. He also experienced the joy of seven beautiful great-grandchildren: John, Caleb, Logan, Madison, Liam, Layla, and Grace.

A special thanks to the Home Hospice program and those at the Sussman House. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Waldo County Hospice or the Sussman House.

Family and friends can gather at the Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. for visitation. A 10 AM Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday November 9, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Belfast. Committal will be private.
