Event Date
Tuesday, May 12, 2026 - 12:00 pmJohn Fromer will lead an outdoor presentation on Opening the Spring Garden, Tuesday, May 12, at 12 p.m., at Merryspring Nature Center.
"A lot of exciting things happen in your perennial gardens in spring," said Merryspring, in a news release. "The growth regulators are at their peak and your plants are growing quickly."
What kind of care does your garden need in spring? How do you identify plants when they emerge in spring? When is a good time to divide perennials? Are there special needs such as feeding or watering in spring that is different from summer and fall?
The group will start with a talk in the Hexagon and then move out to the gardens for a closer look at perennials. These topics and more will be explored.
John Fromer is Merryspring’s program director and a Master Gardener volunteer.
This in-person talk is part of the Summer Talk Series sponsored by Camden Riverhouse Hotel.
Attendance is free for members; $10 for non-members. No pre-registration required.
