'Not Before Bedtime' Victorian tales of mystery, suspense at Rockland library
Charles Dickens takes center stage under the flickering oil lamps, allowing mystery, intrigue, and suspense to prevail Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m., around the fireside of Rockland Public Library’s Reading Room. The audience will be plunged into a world of the supernatural.
The Victorians had an autumn and winter tradition of telling and listening to stories of fright and fantasy, according to the library.
"Experience the atmosphere of a flickering oil lamp, a roaring fire, and a vivid imagination as three eerie 19th century tales are brought to life," said RPL.
Suitable for all ages.
Andrew Harris trained as an actor and educator in London and has worked in professional theater in the US, the UK, and Europe; he currently lectures in theater at the University of Southern Maine.
