Paige Elizabeth Demmons, obituary
NORTH HAVEN — Paige Elizabeth Demmons earned her angel wings on Thursday, October 9, 2025, following a courageous five-year battle with neuroblastoma. Surrounded by the unwavering love of her family at Boston Children's Hospital, she was just 8 years old.
Born in Bangor, Paige was the cherished daughter of Jonathan and Rebecca Carlow Demmons. She attended school on North Haven and virtually through the Greater Commonwealth Virtual School (GCVS) until second grade. Whether in person or online, Paige brought joy and laughter to every classroom. Her family fondly recalls how she could always be counted on to interrupt with an animated story that would completely, and delightfully, derail the day's lesson.
Paige's presence extended far beyond her island home. She cultivated friendships across the globe, connecting with people in Paris, Australia, and Canada. At Christopher's Haven in Boston, where her family lived during treatments, she formed deep bonds with fellow patients, residents, and volunteers. Wednesday Night Game Nights held a special place in her heart, and the crew there became like family to her.
If you knew Paige, you knew her sparkle—and the more sparkles, the better. She could often be found in Disney princess dresses, complete with wigs and high heels, because as she knew, no outfit was complete without them. When her Make-A-Wish was granted, she was crowned a princess at the Princess Ball alongside her mother, a moment of pure magic. Her love of fashion and flair extended to others through "spa days" she hosted for nurses and staff at the Jimmy Fund Clinic, where many sat patiently for makeup applications and manicures during scheduled appointments.
Paige was funny, silly, and remarkably easy-going—though she had a stubborn streak that let everyone know when she'd made up her mind. Her creativity was boundless; give her scissors, glue, glitter, and art supplies, and she would create masterpieces. Her refined palate delighted and sometimes shocked her medical team, particularly her love of seafood and her favorite post-treatment snack: crackers with cream cheese and smoked oysters.
Lovingly known as "Paigie Poo," "P-Pot," or simply "P," she was an island girl at heart. She loved lobster with butter, days at Boy Scout Beach at Mullens Head, throwing rocks, hunting for crabs, and fishing.
In her brief time here, Paige touched thousands of lives. Two of her artwork pieces were chosen by HomeGoods to be featured on bags benefiting the Jimmy Fund. Dressed in a princess gown, naturally, she beamed with pride as she presented a check on the field at a Boston Red Sox game.
Paige was an inspiration to everyone she met—always reaching for more, dreaming of the future, and making plans to own a bakery someday. Her beautiful spirit, bright smile, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Paige is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Jonathan and Rebecca Demmons of North Haven; her brothers, Grayson Demmons and his wife Ashlynn of North Haven, Marten Dunn and his companion Lexi Snowman of Hartland, Bragdon Demmons of North Haven; her paternal grandfather, Frank Demmons and his wife Doris of Vinalhaven; her paternal grandmother, Cynthia Venner and her husband Dave of Bellingham, Washington; her maternal grandparents, John and Rosa Carlow of St. Albans; her aunt Maeghan Demmons and her husband Mike Kim and their children, Ruby and Harvey Kim of Bellingham, Washington; her uncle Brad Carlow and his significant other Morgan Murphy and their children, Candy, Willis and Deven of Monroe; as well as a large loving extended circle of family, friends, caregivers and supporters around the world.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
A graveside service will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1 p.m., at Fuller Cemetery, on North Haven. A reception will follow at Calderwood Hall.
