No injuries to driver after vehicle rollover on Lake View Drive
ROCKLAND — The sole occupant of a vehicle rollover on Lake View Drive in Rockland denied any injuries immediately following the single-vehicle event, Tuesday, March 31.
Knox Regional Communications Center received its first notification of the accident at 2:21 p.m., thereby setting into motion Rockland Fire/EMS and Police to 178 Lake View Drive. Upon arrival, firefighters were unable to get to the operator. They then initiated a request for more responders, due to a belief that extrication would be necessary. However, prior to arrival of a second ambulance and off-duty crews, on-scene firefighters were able to make access.
Scene indications, according to Rockland Police Chief Tim Carroll, were that the driver of the eastbound vehicle became distracted. The vehicle then went off the pavement, and launched over a driveway before landing in a ditch and overturning.
Traffic was reduced to one lane while Fire and EMS apparatus remained on scene. Both lanes reopened for a few minutes while AutoMaster was still en route. The vehicle was hauled from the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Police gave the driver a ride home.
