Medomak Valley 11/12 softball all-stars blanked by Windham in state tournament opener

GLENBURN — The Medomak Valley 11/12 Little League all-star softball team opened state tournament action Sunday, July 7 with a tough loss as the local squad was bested 9-0 by Windham. 

Participating in the state tournament are Ellsworth (District 1), Medomak Valley (District 2), Hermon (District 3), Kennebunk-Wells (District 4) and Windham (District 6). No team is representing District 5 in the tournament.

At the plate for Windham were Chloe Edwards (single), Stella Jarvais (three singles, four RBIs), Kennedy Kimball (single, RBI), Oakley McLead (single), Caitlyn Marsh (single) and Nola Bryant (single, RBI). 

In the pitcher’s circle for Windham was Kennedy Kimball, who pitched a perfect game and recorded 17 strikeouts. 

Pitching for Medomak Valley were Kytana Williamson (four innings, three strikeouts, walk) and Kendall Simmons (one inning, strikeout, walk). 

Medomak Valley will play Ellsworth on Thursday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. with the loser being eliminated from the double-elimination tournament. 

Ellsworth lost its opening round contest Sunday 13-2 against Kennebunk-Wells.
