Early Season Herb Garden Tour, Seedling Planting Demo at Merryspring, May 20
CAMDEN — Denise DeSpirito will lead an Early Season Herb Garden Tour and Seedling Planting Demo, Tuesday, May 20, at 12 noon, at Merryspring Nature Center.
Please join Denise DeSpirito for an early season herb garden tour to see what is growing.
"A great way to learn plants is to see them in each phase of their growth," said Merryspring, in a news release.
This early season herb garden walk will help identify some medicinals that are popping up in the herb garden that folks often confuse when first growing, like comfrey and foxglove, which can be a deadly mistake if not properly identified.
The program will also talk about planting herb seedlings and have a short demonstration.
This talk takes place entirely in the herb garden and participants are welcome to bring questions about their own gardens.
This in-person talk is part of the Summer Talk Series co-sponsored by Renys – A Maine Adventure and Camden Riverhouse Hotel.
Attendance is free for members; $10 for non-members.
Merryspring is your community nature center offering walking trails, cultivated gardens, wildlife, and ecology and horticulture educational programs all year round. The park is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza.
