MidCoast Maine Community Square Dance Party, May 18
MORRILL — The next MidCoast Maine Community Square Dance Party will be Sunday, May 18, at the Morrill Community Center (old Honesty Grange 83), at 4 North Main Street, in the village of Morrill.
The band for this month is “The Barn Dance Band” specializing in tunes from the old time Maine and New England dance repertoires, with musicians with Doug Protsik (Fiddle/Accordion), Jeff Philbick (Piano) and Paul Mattor (Banjo/Mandolin and Bass). The callers will be Rick Sbardella, Doug Protsik and Chris Ricciotti.
Admission is sliding scale $10-$20. No one turned away on ability to pay. Volunteers are needed to help with set up before the dance (at 3 p.m.) and with clean up after the dance (6 p.m.). Volunteers can get in for free. Please let Ricciotti know ahead of time if you can help.
All dances are taught. No partners or experience needed. The dances are friendly, welcoming and inclusive.
