ROCKLAND — In the opening round of the District 2 all-star tournament for 11- and 12-year-old Little League softball, Medomak earned a narrow victory over Five Town on Saturday, June 22 in Rockland. 

The Medomak all-stars collected a 5-4 victory to start all-star play off with a 1-0 record. 

Medomak plated two runs in the first inning and three in the fifth frame. 

Five Town tallied one run in the second inning, one in the third and two in the fifth. 

Working the pitcher’s circle for Medomak were Laukka (17 strikeouts, seven walks) and Williamson (17 strikeouts, three walks). 

At the plate for Medomak were Kytana Williamson (two singles), Olivia Pelkey (double, single, three RBIs) and Madison Boynton (single). 

At the plate for Five Town were Kirsten (single), Mikayla (double), Sierra (single), Raelynn (single) and Kerrigan (double). No last names were provided for Five Town. 

With the win, Medomak advances in the winner’s bracket with its next contest coming Monday, June 24 at 5 p.m.

With the loss, Five Town drops into the loser’s bracket with its next game coming Tuesday, June 25 at 5 p.m.
