Cynthia Jayne Field, obituary
Cynthia Jayne Field, 84, died September 7, 2025, at Maine Health Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport. Cindy was born February 22, 1941, in Rockland to Hilliard Robinson Spear and Ada Francis (Coleman) Spear.
Cindy grew up in Warren and attended local schools. She graduated from Warren High School in 1958. She loved playing all sports in high school including basketball and softball. She graduated from University of Maine at Orono in 1963 with a degree in teaching.
She was a gym teacher at Thomaston Academy for a brief time before beginning a family and raising her children. Cindy was always busy providing for her family through various jobs over the years. She was one of the founding members of the Warren Ambulance Service. She worked at the Warren Post Office, Samco Can-Port Clyde Foods, Ames Department Store, Ask Homecare, personal care attendant, and Walmart in Maine and Arizona. She retired from Walmart as Pharmacy Technician.
She moved back to Maine in 2019 and lived with her daughter, Mary. Cindy was an avid sports fanatic and enjoyed watching all of the New England sports teams: Celtics, Red Sox and the Patriots with her dear friend, Janette Small. She was well known for being very active, out-going, friendly, loving, strong-willed, and had an unbelievable spirit to keep going no matter what life presented to her. In her later years she always had knitting needles in her hands, she made many items for her family and friends. She was also an avid reader.
She was predeceased by her parents and granddaughter Chelsea Jayne Field.
She is survived by her son George “Jody” Field IV and his wife Angela of Warren; daughter, Mary Field of Warren; son Andrew Field of Warren; sister, Nancy Schwab of Port Clyde; grandchildren George Field V and his wife Amanda of Cushing, Devin Field and his wife Kaylee of Warren, Tyler Field and his partner Jasmine of Warren, Everett Field of Warren; great grandchildren, Deklin, Linkin, and Aubree; niece, Roberta Koska of Sante Fe, New Mexico; nephews, Sam Zwecker and his wife Wendy of Rockport, Michael Zwecker of Budapest, Hungary; cousins, Ed Spear of Bangor and his children Alan Spear and his wife Mona of Bangor, and Mark Spear of Sarasota, Florida, Jim Spear and his wife Nancy of Oxford, Connecticut, and their children Jeff Spear, and Greg Spear and his wife Kayla, all of Oxford, Connecticut.

Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 1-3 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. to celebrate Cynthia’s life at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro.
