Bay Chamber in search of young music all-stars
Bay Chamber is accepting applications for the Young Stars of Maine program, which recognizes, encourages, and rewards music students who are serious in their study and performance of music, according to Bay Chamber Concerts and Music School, in a news release.
The program awards prizes to students aged 12 to 25 ranging from $500 to $1,000. Among the nine categories are awards for soloists and ensembles, classical and jazz musicians. Applicants must live in Maine.
The opportunity is part of Bay Chamber’s 60-year tradition of lifting young musicians up through educational and performance opportunities, according to Bay Chamber. Previous award winners have gone on to perform professionally and earn advanced music degrees.
The application deadline is April 17 with live auditions on May 9 and a prize winner's concert on May 21 in Bay Chamber’s Hammer Hall. See the Young Stars of Maine Award page on Bay Chamber’s website for more information: https://baychamber.org/young-stars-of-maine-award.
