ST. GEORGE — Arthur W. Bartlett passed away on the morning of September 8, 2026, at the age of 81. Born March 19, 1945, in Rockland, to Norris C. and Marion A. Bartlett, he grew up on Old County Road in Rockland.

Arthur married his wife, Priscilla, lovingly known as Andy, and they spent 51 years raising their six kids in Port Clyde and St. George. Their home became the host location for many cookouts and gatherings, including their yearly Lobster Festival Cookout. He was predeceased by Andy in 2023 and he missed her very much.

He worked a variety of jobs throughout his life. He lobstered and delivered propane gas cylinders for MacPhail’s Appliance Store of Rockland where he proudly earned the CB handle GasMan. He worked on the Monhegan Mail Boat, Laura B, and proudly retired as a painter for Harbor Builders of Tenants Harbor.

Arthur loved being outdoors. He spent many hours mowing his lawn and tending to his beautiful gardens. Both seemed to get bigger in size every year.

He was predeceased by his siblings Frederick, Evelyn, Joan, Norene, Adelaide, Norris Jr., George; and his son-in-law Rudy Pepin.

Arthur is survived by his children, David Lunt (Sharon) of Greene, Theresa Pepin of Acton, Wendy Scammon (Robert) of Stuart, Florida, William Lunt (Paula) of Tenants Harbor, Michelle Bartlett Ward of Rockland, and Robert Bartlett (Miguel) of Stuart, Florida; his siblings Robert Bartlett (Regina) of Oakland, Donald Bartlett (Bonnie) of Litchfield, Marion Seidner of Camden; and many nieces and nephews. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Achorn Cemetery, Old County Road, Rockland.
