Anne Dubraska Britt, obituary
ELLSWORTH — Anne Dubraska Britt, passed away peacefully September 13, 2025 in Rockland, Maine. Anne was born on January 15, 1943 in White Plains, New York, to Richard and Sally Dubraska.
Anne grew up in White Plains and graduated from Skidmore College. She then embarked on her career in education, including years as a physical education teacher.
Anne so loved living on Branch Lake in Ellsworth. Her summers were spent kayaking, biking, boating, and especially deepwater jogging. She was also active in her community, being a facilitator for Pathfinders, a board member of the Blue Hill Society for Aid to Children, waterfront director at Nichols Day Camp of Brooksville, helped launch the first John Bapst hockey team, and was President of the Friends of Maine Hockey for many years.
Anne and her family were avid UMaine hockey supporters and season ticket holders since 1983. They followed the team religiously attending all home games and most away games and traveled with them to Ireland, Alaska, all frozen fours.
She is survived her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Britt of Rockland; her sister, Ellen Danneman and her husband William; and a cousin, David Danielson and his wife Laura. She will be fondly remembered by Tony and Joanna Libertore and their children, Alexa, Alanna, and AJ.
She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Hamilton Britt; her son, Richard Andrew Britt; and her parents.
Anne’s family would like to extend their ‘Thanks’ to Constellation Hospice for their outstanding care in Rockland.
A celebration of life gathering will be held October 4, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, in The Overlook at the Lucerne Inn, 2517 Main Road, Dedham, ME.
