Women Build Returns in 2026 to Build at Compass Point in Rockport
Local Women Unite to Raise Walls, Build Confidence, and Strengthen Community
Taking place May 2, 3, 5, and 6, Women Build brings together women from across Knox County to step onto the construction site, pick up tools, and help build permanently affordable homes for local families. No construction experience is required, just a willingness to show up and be part of something bigger than yourself.
Compass Point, located on Route One in Rockport, is Midcoast Habitat’s new 10-home pocket neighborhood designed for households earning 30–80% of Area Median Income. Infrastructure is underway, foundations are beginning this spring, and Women Build will be the first major community build event at the site. Participants work alongside Habitat staff, learning hands-on construction skills while directly contributing to safe, energy-efficient, permanently affordable homeownership opportunities.
Women Build has become one of Midcoast Habitat’s most anticipated annual events, known for its high energy, strong sense of camaraderie, and the powerful visual of women leading on a construction site. The week concludes with a celebratory dance party to recognize the impact made together.
Businesses, community groups, and individual volunteers are invited to participate. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and volunteer teams are encouraged to sign up early.
