PAWS Canine Games & Family Festival brings four-legged fun to Steamboat Landing

Saturday, June 23, 2018 - 06:44 pm

BELFAST — Though the attendance at this year’s Canine Games and Family Festival was a bit lower than usual thanks largely to the ever-present threat of rain, those that did attend were treated to a variety of dog shows and shenanigans.

The event, which was hosted by Camden based shelter Paws Animal Adoption, took place Saturday, June 23, at Steamboat Landing Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  It remained overcast for the duration of the event, though the rain never came beyond a light sprinkle.

There were a number of competitions canines and their human companions could participate in, including a race, obstacle course, jumping course, and best trick. Every participant won applause, with winners also snagging a shiny medal for their efforts.
