Jazz in June 2025 sets June 13-15 schedule
CAMDEN — The three-day schedule for this year’s Jazz in June festival is set, filling downtown Camden with live jazz over Father’s Day weekend.
Friday, June 13
The fest’s traditional opening performance is a free outdoor lunchtime concert by the Midcoast Music Academy Faculty Jazz Ensemble, with special guests. Jazz on the Village Green will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
The first cocktail-hour Jazz Reception of the fest will feature innovative cellist Robin Lane at Lucky Betty’s, 46 Elm St., from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The fest’s first Feature Concert presents the Julia Keefe Quartet, with special guest the Greg Abate Trio, at the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., at 7:30 p.m. Reserved seat tickets, $35/$40 day of show, are available at camdenoperahouse.com and 236-3154. Doors open 7 p.m.
Midcoast Music Academy's Late Night Jam returns to Bistro La Cave, 7 Public Landing. Led by bandmates of the late Eric Davis (David Clarke on guitar and Bill Batty on drums, joined by Ezra Rugg on bass and Dan Wenger on trombone), and sponsored by the Eric Davis Jazz Fund, the jam runs 9 to 11 p.m. Donations will be collected for the Fund.
Saturday, June 14
Java Jazz by guitarist David Clarke opens the day at 10 a.m. at Zoot Coffee, 5 Elm St.
The UMaine Augusta Jazz Ensemble will perform from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Camden, 55 Elm St. Doors open for this popular free concert at noon.
Jazz Receptions 5 to 6:30 p.m. at 16 Bay View will feature the Duane Edwards Duo in The Vintage Room; and Myles Kelley, solo piano, in The View (rooftop).
The fest’s final Feature Concert offers An Evening with Spyro Gyra, celebrating the jazz fusion innovators’ 50+ years, at the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., at 7:30 p.m. Reserved seat tickets, $50/$60 day of show, are available at camdenoperahouse.com and 236-3154. Doors open 7 p.m.
Sunday, June 15
Jazz in June concludes with Jazz on the Wharf, as the Bay Chamber Jazz Ensemble performs overlooking the harbor. The student/faculty group will play from 1 to 3 p.m. on the roof of Salt Wharf, 3 Wayfarer Drive.
