At a time when our communities need thoughtful, steady leadership, Marcus stands out as exactly the kind of representative we want advocating for us in Augusta.

Marcus has already demonstrated his commitment to our communities through his work on the Camden Rockport School Board, Five Town CSD board, and the Mid-Coast School of Technology board.

School board service requires more than just attending meetings; it means making difficult decisions about budgets, supporting educators, and ensuring that every child has access to a high-quality education. Marcus has approached this responsibility with integrity, diligence, and a clear focus on what matters most: students and staff. 

He has led the Five Town CSD Board for several years, playing a critical role in navigating challenges including COVID, hiring a new superintendent, and adapting to rapidly evolving technology. Through it all Marcus has shown an ability to listen—truly listen—to parents, staff, and community members, even when opinions differ. That kind of collaborative mindset is exactly what we need more of in the Maine Legislature. Rather than seeking out division, he has worked to build consensus and find practical solutions.

His experience also gives him a deep understanding of how state-level decisions directly impact local schools. From funding formulas to policy mandates, Marcus knows that the choices made in Augusta ripple into every classroom, impacting all Maine children. He brings not only awareness of these issues, but also firsthand experience navigating them.

Beyond education, Marcus’s approach to leadership is grounded in common sense and accountability. He understands that public service is about representing the people—not personal ambition or partisan talking points. That perspective, shaped by his time on the school board, is something that will serve all of us well.
