Twelve-unit apartment building proposed for Downtown Rockland
ROCKLAND — A proposal for a 12-unit apartment house in Downtown Rockland will go before the Rockland Planning Board on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025. If approved, the project will renovate an existing building at 20 Elm Street, between Main and Union streets, and between Museum and Oak streets.
“Project Greenhouse” is the vision of LeVigeon LLC and CPSL LLC. Bill Coppola is listed as the owner, however, certain indications also reflect involvement by Sally Levi. Levi has been to the Planning Board before with her proposal for a multi-use residential/commercial structure at a location known by long-time residents as the former house of an ice cream seller. Levi is also behind the new seasonal ice cream takeout at 84 Crescent Street, along the Harbor Trail at South End Beach (aka Sandy Beach).
Once complete, the three-story structure will encompass 7,200 sq ft. The project is estimated to cost $3 million dollars and is expected to take about 2 years to complete.
This proposal is the second item of the Planning Board's Jan. 7 meeting, which begins at 5:15 p.m., in City Council Chambers.
