'Telling Tales: Maine History from Letters and Diaries' talk at Quarry Hill
Quarry Hill welcomes Jan Eakins, of the Belfast Historical Society, to the Anderson Inn on Thursday, November 6, at 11 a.m.
"Cultural historian Jan Eakins offers us a unique peek at Maine’s past as told through the written pages of men and women who lived it," said Quarry Hill. "She’ll cover events that may surprise you – a century of warfare on Maine soil, the outmigration of tens of thousands of men and women to every state in the nation, contributions they made to our 21st century lives. We’ll share fun too – circuses, sleighing, dancing – and bits of wry Mainer humor."
Part of Quarry Hill’s ongoing enrichment series designed for adults aged 50 and better, the program is free, but advance registration is required. To sign up, please call Quarry Hill at 301-6116 or email qhinfo@mainehealth.org.
