Staff updates in Senator Susan Collins' office
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins has announced updates to her senior leadership team for the remainder of the 119th Congress.
Senator Collins’ longtime Chief of Staff Steve Abbott will manage her reelection campaign, according to a March 18 news release. Katie Brown, currently the Senator’s Legislative Director and Chief Counsel, will serve as Chief of Staff. Annie Clark, the Senator’s former Communications Director, will return to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff.
“I am so fortunate to have a trusted team of advisors stepping into these important positions as we continue addressing the serious challenges facing Maine and our nation,” said Senator Collins, in the release. “Their experience, judgment, and dedication will help ensure that I continue to serve the people of Maine effectively.”
Steve Abbott, a native of Orono and resident of Portland, is an attorney who has served as Senator Collins’ Chief of Staff for the past 25 years. Abbott previously managed all of Senator Collins’ reelection campaigns in 2002, 2008, 2014, and 2020.
Katie Brown has served as a senior policy advisor to Senator Collins since 2013, most recently as Legislative Director and Chief Counsel. She brings broad expertise to the role, including work on appropriations, education, and other key legislative priorities.
Annie Clark served as Senator Collins’ Communications Director from 2015 to 2025. She also served as Communications Director for Senator Collins’ successful 2020 reelection campaign.
