WARREN — Sadie E. (Gammon) Burr, 92, of Warren, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, at Bartlett Woods in Rockland. 

Sadie was born April 21, 1934, in Thomaston, the daughter of Irven and Hazel (Moody) Gammon. She grew up in Warren and attended the public schools in Warren and Union before earning her bachelor’s degree from Boston University.

Sadie worked as a secretary for Eastern Medical and took great pride in being active in her community. She was a dedicated volunteer with the American Veterans and the Lions Club, giving generously of her time and energy. This volunteer work was especially important to Sadie, and she found great meaning in helping others and being involved in her community.

She also enjoyed escaping the cold Maine winters by spending time in Florida, where she looked forward to warmer days and a change of scenery.

Sadie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Burr, and by her parents, Irven and Hazel Gammon.

She is survived by her children, Douglas Kuntz of Warren and Julie Defino of Marion, Connecticut; her stepchildren, David Burr of Arizona and Susan Konya of Michigan; her grandchildren, David Kuntz and his wife Kelly, of Mandeville, Louisiana, and Jack Kuntz and his wife Alicia, of Uxbridge, Massachusetts; and her great-grandchildren, Kaelynn and Harvey Kuntz.

A graveside service will be held Friday, September 18, at 11 a.m., at Cushing Cemetery on North Pond Road in Warren.
