Rockport Library’s Donut Dash 5K sets a record with 267 racers crossing finish line

The Friends of the Rockport Public Library’s Donut Dash 5K Family Fun Run/Walk was held at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 13. For the fourth year in a row, runners enjoyed moody fog and cool temperatures, according to a news relsae from the library. A record 267 racers crossed the finish line, accompanied by a handful of dogs and babies in strollers.
The overall male and female winners of the race were Eric Neill (age 32), with a time of 16:48 and Kylie van Tassel (age 13), with a time of 20:57. The following are the male and female winners from each age group. Times for the other participants can be found here.

The event was part of the Town of Rockport’s 4th Annual Donut Festival.
The Rockport Public Library thanked Eighty 8 Donut Cafe, Ruckus Donuts, The Holy Donut, The Only Doughnut, Old Time Donuts, The Donut Grove, and Graffiti Donuts for donut donated to race participants. Proceeds raised from the race directly support the library.
