CUMBERLAND — The Maine Sports Hall of Fame welcomed a trio of new board members earlier this month, including a Midcoast woman.

Rachel Coor, the new owner of the Midcoast Athletics Center in Warren, was welcomed to the organization’s board of directors March 10.

Coor joins the board alongside new board members Jess LeClerc, an Olympic ice hockey referee, and Jeff Mannix, a sports broadcaster who provides play-by-play action for the University of Maine men’s ice hockey team and co-hosts a radio show on 96.3/92.5 FM.

Coor is a former registered nurse, has been a practicing attorney in Arizona, and was long-time cheerleading coach (12 years at Medomak Valley High School, four years in Colorado and eight years at Rockland District High School).

She is also a former employee for Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks and former law fellow for the National Football League.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purposes of appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes, and formally honoring and memorializing Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction to the state of Maine.
