Public invited to register for Coast Guard 5K Run to Remember
The Coast Guard Foundation, with the support of community partner Bangor Savings Bank, invites runners, walkers, families, and supporters to gather in Rocklandfor a special 5K Run to Remember on Friday, August 22. The event begins at 8 a.m., with check-in starting at 7 a.m. at Harbor Park. This community run honors the memory of fallen Coast Guard members and supports the Foundation’s mission to care for those who serve today.
The 5K route starts and ends at Veterans Memorial Square at the corner of Park and Main streets. Whether you are aiming for a personal best or enjoying a walk with friends, the event is open to all ages and abilities. After the race, participants are invited to return to Harbor Park for an early BBQ hosted by the Chief Petty Officers Association, Northern New England Chapter.
There is no fee to participate, but advance registration is required. On race morning, all participants must check-in at Harbor Park . Race bibs will be available for day-of registrations. Coast Guard Foundation Run to Remember T-shirts will be available for a $30 donation, with proceeds supporting the Foundation’s tragedy assistance programs that help Coast Guard families in times of loss.
