Don Reimer to preview what's happening next in Midcoast Maine’s bird world
"The rich world of birds changes often throughout the year here in midcoast Maine," said a news release.
Each season brings variations in the species and numbers of birds visiting.
"At this time of year, some of these changes can be predictable, as more finches, crossbills and pine siskins arrive in our area," said the release. "But there is always the possibility of unexpected guests, like pine warblers, shrikes, or even an evening grosbeak."
Don Reimer will identify the species and behaviors to look for when he speaks at the Thomaston Public Library, Sunday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. The Cushing Public Library is co-sponsoring this collaborative community event, which is free and open to the public.
Reimer’s 2020 book, Seen Anything Good?, highlights his six decades of birding experiences. His column “Birding with Don Reimer” appears regularly in the Midcoast Villager.
