THOMASTON — Families, neighbors, and friends are invited to gather on the Thomaston Green this summer for a new community event series: Second Sunday Picnics in the Park. The relaxed, family-friendly gatherings will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month — June 8, July 13, August 10, and September 14 — with rain dates scheduled for the following Sundays.

Held on the large open park along Route 1 overlooking the St. George River, known locally as the Thomaston Green, each event offers an opportunity for residents to connect, unwind, and enjoy the outdoors together.

Attendees are encouraged to take their own picnic and enjoy simple fun like lawn games, bubbles, and time with neighbors. Families are welcome to come and go as they please.

Second Sunday Picnics in the Park is a new initiative designed to foster connection and community through informal, accessible events in Thomaston’s scenic downtown park.
