Public invited to attend Vet Center dedication ceremony in So. Portland
The public is invited to attend a ceremony dedicating the new Portland Vet Center location. The dedication ceremony will take place Aug. 20, 2025, at 10 a.m., and will be followed by an open house, facility tour, and BBQ.
"Addressing the mental health needs of Veterans is a top priority for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs," said a news release.
Portland Vet Center offers no-cost, confidential counseling, community engagement, and referral services for eligible Veterans, service members, including National Guard and reserve components, and their families. Services include individual, group, couples, and family counseling for needs such as depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, and the psychological effects of military-service related trauma, including sexual trauma. Records are not shared with other VA, Department of Defense, or community providers.
