Merryspring Nature Center will host a free program exploring owl pellets, Friday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m., as part of its Free Family Fridays series.

In this Free Family Friday, families are invited to Merryspring to learn about Maine's native owls. After a short presentation about owl behavior and biology, guests will be able to open up owl pellets to discover mammal bones hiding inside. There are no live owls at this program. 

Free Family Fridays take place at Merryspring on select July and August Fridays at 10 a.m. Free Family Fridays are part of the Free Family Programs series at Merryspring, sponsored by First National Bank and Camden Riverhouse Hotel. 

Preregistration is necessary for this event, with limited space available. Guests may sign up by contacting Merryspring at 207-236-2239 or info@merryspring.org.

Admission is free to all. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
