The Rotary Club of Belfast invites the public to a night of community spirit and charitable giving at Evening by the Bay, the kick-off event for the annual Belfast Harbor Fest, held Friday, August 15, 2025, at United Farmers' Market, at 18 Spring St., in Belfast.

This year’s event is a Roaring 20s Gala celebrating the club’s 100th anniversary, and guests are encouraged to don their best 1920s-inspired attire. The evening includes both a silent auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a spirited live auction starting at 7 p.m., all set against the Belfast waterfront.

Attendees will enjoy hors d'oeuvres catered by Jojo Oliphant and his team from Bell the Cat, known for creative and high-quality cuisine, according to the Rotary. A cash bar will also be available.

The auction features an array of items, including original artwork from Maine artists, handmade goods, gift certificates, local services, and one-of-a-kind experiences. All proceeds go toward the Rotary’s signature project: an inclusive playground at Belfast City Park, ensuring access and fun for children of all abilities.

A special highlight of the evening is professional auctioneer Elsie Andrews of Andrews & Andrews Auctioneers in Northport.
