Folk-pop duo Bobbylene opens 2026 series of The Blue Café
Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., invites one and all to the first Blue Café of the new year, Wednesday, Jan. 14. Local folk-pop duo Bobbylene will open the 2026 series of free performances in the opera house’s intimate third-floor listening room at 7:30 p.m.
Bobbylene is the husband/wife duo of Bobby Katz and Marlene McCarthy, who met while studying music at NYU. Katz, a jazz saxophonist, and McCarthy, a classical pianist, joined forces and started writing and recording music in a completely different genre – pop-influenced folk music.
Seating is limited to about 50, with spillover space in the adjacent lounge. The street-level door to the elevator lobby will open 7 p.m.
There is no admission charge for The Blue Café series; donations for the sponsoring Community Arts Fund are welcomed.
