The Pine Tree Flyers play free concert in Searsmont, July 11
The Pine Tree Flyers, a part of New England's traditional music scene, play a free concert, Friday, July 11, at 4 p.m., in Searsmont. The concert is part of Searsmont Town Library's 'Live Outside the Library' concert series and will be held at the Searsmont Community Center (outdoors, if the weather cooperates, otherwise inside).
"The Pine Tree Flyers shine a renewed light on the tunes of the Northeast with excitement and respect," said the Library, in a news release. "All residents of the great state of Maine, Katie McNally (fiddle), Emily Troll (accordion), Benjamin Foss (guitar), and Neil Pearlman (piano) cut their teeth playing for contra dances and learning from the greats. Individually, they've toured the world playing Irish, Scottish, and Quebecois music and they bring this wellspring of knowledge and technical prowess to the American music that was born from these traditions."

Bring your camp chair, a blanket, and a picnic if it's nice. Rain or shine.
Live Outside the Library is made possible by Friends of the Library, the fundraising efforts of the library Board of Trustees, and a grant from the Onion Foundation.
All concerts are presented free to the public.
