WALDOBORO — Levern A. Kelley, 53, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2025, in Waldoboro. Known by many as Bernie, she was a warm, loving, and generous soul whose presence touched everyone she met.
Born on September 25, 1971, in Rockport, Maine, Bernie was the daughter of Wilbur A. Fogg and Patricia A. Fogg. She grew up in Lincolnville and graduated from Camden-Rockport High School in 1990.
For more than 20 years, Bernie made her home in Union, Maine, where she built lasting friendships and became a beloved part of the community. She worked at Pen Bay Medical Center, where she was known as a dedicated, hardworking, and dependable member of her team — the kind of person who always showed up and supported those around her. Bernie was also the type of friend who would give the shirt off her back without a second thought.
She had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found kayaking, camping, or simply enjoying nature with her loved ones. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, creating countless memories filled with laughter and love. Known for her breathtaking smile and her vibrant sense of humor, Bernie had a gift for lighting up any room she entered.
She was predeceased by her parents, Patricia and Wilbur Fogg; and her aunt Karla Wilson.
Bernie is survived by her beloved daughters, Amanda “Moo” and Jade “Jadey” Gustafson; her sister, Marian Yager, and husband Mark; nephew Shane Hawthorne and wife Leola, and their son Dresden; cousin Earl Nash and wife Ashley; cousin Tara Hupper; and her three cherished grandsons, Andrew, Abel, and Jackson. She is also survived by her former husband, Robert Kelley, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Bernie’s bright spirit, loving heart, and joyful laughter will be missed deeply and remembered always.
A celebration of Life will be held September 20, from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., at the Odd Fellows Hall, located at the intersection of Route 1 and Rt 90 in Warren, Maine.
