Paul Gerald Tetreault, obituary
HOPE — Paul Gerald Tetreault, 81, of Hope, passed away on Feb. 22, 2017, at Pen Bay Medical Center, after several years of declining health. Born in Worcester, Mass., on Sept. 16, 1935, he was the son of Arthur and Hazel (Deroiser) Tetreault.
In 1967, he married Patricia J. Bostwick in Worcester, moving to Camden in 1991.
Paul was employed for 16 years as a custodian at Maine School Administrative District 28, the Camden-Rockport school system. In addition to his custodial duties, Paul became a good friend to many students. They could depend on him for encouragement to improve their grades, to work harder in sports, at home or in their jobs, or for simply an extra pencil. Later, he worked for 10 years at the Knox County Courthouse in Rockland, as a custodian, where he loved "his girls" who worked there.
A hard worker, Paul enjoyed being busy, independent and going to yard sales with his wife, Pat. His car was well recognized by people in the area, as it could easily be spotted by "Gram & Pa" on the license plate. His other hobbies included playing cards and telling jokes. Most of all, Paul enjoyed being around his family, especially his beloved three dogs, who gave him much companionship and unconditional love.
Surviving him is wife, Pat of Hope; four children, David Tetreault and his wife, Courtney, of Rockland, Sherry Willis and her husband, John, of Union, and Wendy Perron and John Tetreault, both of Spencer, Mass.; six grandchildren, Shelby Olson of Warren, Debra Baughman of Waldoboro, Matthew Deane of Camden, and Jordan, Lawrence and Saphina Tetreault, all of Rockland; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter, Olivia; three brothers, Arthur T. (Diana) Tetreault, Raymond (Joanne) Tetreault, all of Worcester, Mass., and Ronald (Mary) Tetreault of Oxford, Mass.; his sister, Phyllis (Richard) Gorskey of Brimfield, Mass.; and several special cousins, Peggy Harwood Clark, and Barbara, Nicholas and Erika Von salza. He was predeceased by his son, Paul G. Tetreault Jr.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
