Opening reception for 'Oya, The Goddess of Change' and Friends by Robin Brawn
The community is invited to the opening reception for "Oya, The Goddess of Change" and Friends, a show of whimsical works by Robin Brawn, to be held Sunday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 5 p.m., in the Community Building, in Lincolnville Center. Light refreshments will be served. Music will be provided by pianist Peter Saladino.
Brawn, a Lincolnville resident, is a self-taught artist who was always drawing, painting and collaging from an early age. Over the years she has stretched her "wings" in several mixed media styles. In 2025 she needed some whimsical art to lift her spirits. Her 12 year-old lab and the wonderful wild life in her back yard was the inspiration for these new pieces. Some of the new paintings were created on top of older pieces from the past few years.
Brawn will also have greeting cards, collaged match boxes, and other fun smaller art to collect or give as gifts. Ten percent of sales will be donated to the ministries of the United Christian Church (UCC), event sponsor.
The exhibit continues to Sunday, November 9, and can be seen by contacting the artist by email rbrawn@me.com.
The Community Building is located at 18 Searsmont Road, Rte. 173 in Lincolnville Center, next to the Meeting House, the home of the United Christian Church (UCC), event sponsor. The building is ADA compliant and there is ample parking. All are welcome.
