Nature Journaling Workshop with Georges River Land Trust

Saturday, April 25, 2026 - 10:00 am to 12:00 pmSEARSMONT — Join Georges River Land Trust and Maine Master Naturalist Sherrie York for a guided, hands-on nature journaling and field sketching workshop on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., at Gibson Preserve in Searsmont. This workshop is free and open to participants ages 16 and up.
At the beginning of each class, participants will spend time outdoors practicing sketching and observation skills together, and then venture out onto the preserve with a prompt to fill a page with individual discoveries.
"This workshop is perfect for anyone who is curious about starting a nature journal, or is seeking new inspiration," said GRLT, in a news release.
Come prepared for time outdoors: dress for the weather, bring water, snacks, and sun protection. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. This program will include about 1 mile of walking. Bring a sketchbook and a pencil. A lightweight, portable folding chair or stool is handy if you have one. Other supplies will be provided.
Directions: Gibson Preserve is located at 621 Woodsman Mill Rd in Searsmont. A parking lot is available next to the large green hanging sign.
