'Love Your Library; Your Library Loves You' Open House in Rockland

Friday, February 20, 2026 - 04:30 pm to 07:00 pmFor the first time since 2020, the Rockland Public Library and Friends of Rockland Public Library will hold the community-centered "Love Your Library; Your Library Loves You" Open House, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20, from 4:30 -7 p.m.
"There is no charge for this fun-filled evening, and delicious hot food and soups, drinks, and desserts will be served," said the Library, in a news release.
Jazz pianist Steve Lindsay will provide music in the Reading Room. Local performer Steve Athearn will share his talents as roving juggler throughout the building during the celebratory evening. Local artist Susan Beebe will lead an art activity for kids and there will be special storytime with one of the officers from the Rockland Police Department.
"There will also be information highlighting some resources you might not know about, and much, much more," said RPL.
An opportunity will be available to enter a drawing for door prizes (provided by Friends of Rockland Library), which will include gift cards for local grocery stores and other businesses; a limited number of take-home care packages will also be on hand.
The event is sponsored by First National Bank, the Library, and Friends of Rockland Public Library and is free and open to the public.
The Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union Street.
