Rosanne L. Ausplund, obituary
TENANTS HARBOR — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosanne L. Ausplund, who passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and pets on January 25, 2026, at the age of 69.
Born on July 13, 1956, in the picturesque town of Rockland, Maine, to Harry and Verona (Miller) Curtis, Rose lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep connection to her roots. She grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of Maine, attending local schools and graduating from Rockland District High School as part of the Class of 1974.
Rose dedicated her professional life to the Ocean Explorers Dive Shop, where she put her heart into repairing dive suits and filling air tanks. Her love for the outdoors was shown through the great joy she took in landscaping her home and cultivating beautiful flower gardens that brightened the lives of all who knew her.
For many summers, she found her sanctuary at Sennebec Campground, creating memories that will be cherished forever by her friends and family. Her Bernese Mountain Dog, Brentley, was a cherished companion, always by her side. Rose was a vibrant soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.
Rose was predeceased by her beloved parents and her brothers Harry Curtis Jr. and Scottie Curtis.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, including her devoted husband of 48 years, Mark Ausplund; son, Michael Ausplund; daughter, Magan Wallace; grandchildren, Alex Ausplund, Dayton Poland and his wife Madeline, and Hayzel Wallace. She is also survived by her brother Wayne Curtis and his wife Carol; sister, Gloria Dennison; and many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. Rose will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
