Judith A. ‘Judy’ Weeks
SOUTH THOMASTON — Judith A. ‘Judy’ Weeks, 85, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, following a period of declining health, Monday, March 30, 2026 at Breakwater Commons in Rockland.
Born in Webster, Massachusetts, Judy was the daughter of Alexander and Victoria Mezzoni Dudek. Moving to Maine as a young girl, Judy attended schools in the Brewer area, graduating from Brewer High school in 1958. Following graduation, she attended the Northern Conservatory of Music where she earned a Bachelor of Music Education in 1962.
On July 7, 1962, Judy married the love of her life, John C. Weeks in Brewer.
A lover of music her entire life, she devoted her career to teaching the younger generation. For several years she served as Music Teacher in Millinocket, and Livermore Falls, later working for over 20 years with MSAD 50.
After retiring from teaching, Judy served another 20 years as Parish Secretary at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Rockland. Music was never far away from her heart, and she also served as Parish Minister of Music for several years.
Judy’s bright light will be missed by all who knew her.
Predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Laura Dudek; and her brother-in-law Thomas LeBlond; Judy is survived by her beloved husband, John Weeks of South Thomaston; her daughter, Janice Weeks Philbrick and her husband Bert of Owls Head; her sister, Karen LeBlond of Cushing; her grandson, Bronson Philbrick of South Thomaston; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 11 a.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Rockland.
Judy will be laid to rest privately at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
