'Intrepid' opens at Salt Pond Studio

From roiling surf to quiet harbors, woodlands, trails, and even backyards, the show presents paintings done en plein air and in the studio by eleven “Intrepid” and distinguished local artists, according to the Studio, in a news release.
"Curated by artist/owner Pam Cabanas, the gallery welcomes the meticulous works of Gregory Dunham, the dockside works of Bjorn Runquist, the wild surf pastels of Lyn Asselta, the colorful landscape works of Stephen Florimbi, Jane Herbert, and Doug Smith, as well as the stunning watercolors of Thomas Bucci," said the Studio. "Cushing artist Karin Strong is represented by strong oil paintings done en plein air. Local colors of the seas and shores by Cushing artists Margaret Creighton and Molly Mugler will enchant, and Jean Kigel takes us on a painter’s journey out to Monhegan."
Paintings by Pam Cabanas will be featured in the newly renovated "back room" gallery, said the news release.
Salt Pond Studio is known for lively receptions featuring chats around the firepit and hotdogs on the grill. Salt Pond Studio, a bit of old Maine, is located in the renovated 1850’s one-room schoolhouse near the corner of rte 97 [Cushing Rd} and Salt Pond Road. The gallery welcomes visitors throughout the season. Hours are Thurdays - Sundays from noon to 5 pm, or by appointment. Call or text 207-691-5787.
