'Fridays at the Museum' interviews World War One reenactors
Rosey Gerry will be interviewing two World War One reenactors, Nate Benner and Tucker Goodwin, at Lincolnville Historical Society's next "Fridays at the Museum" event, Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. They will be talking about the Doughboys of WWI, and how they lived and fared in France as part of the American Expeditionary Forces.
"Doughboys" was the popular nickname for United States soldiers, particularly those in the American Expeditionary Forces, during World War I. The origin of the term is unclear, with several theories attributing it to the soldiers' appearance or the clay used to clean their uniforms.
The LHS is located at 33 Beach Road in Lincolnville. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the museum will be open upstairs if you would like to look around prior to the talk.
The event is free, but donations are accepted.
