(Photo courtesy Five Town Little League)Five Town Little League (FTLL) is deepening its partnership with Camden Hills Regional High School through a combined $1,500 contribution supporting both baseball and softball programs, reinforcing a growing collaboration that benefits student-athletes across multiple age groups, according to an April 13 news release from FTLL.
FTLL recently donated $1,000 to the Camden Hills Regional High School Baseball and Softball Boosters in recognition of their ongoing partnership in hosting successful winter clinics for younger players. In addition, FTLL will provide $500 in field time at The PITCH to the Camden Hills softball program, acknowledging their exceptional leadership in ensuring strong participation and support for girls’ clinics throughout the winter season, the release said.
Now in its second year, the partnership has become a cornerstone of player development in the region, connecting high school athletes with 200 younger players through structured clinics that emphasize skill-building, leadership, and sportsmanship.
“This partnership is about more than just baseball and softball, it’s about developing athletes in each program, as well as developing mentorship, and building community pride,” said Fred Gildred, President of the Board of Five Town Little League, in the release. “Our high school athletes are stepping up as role models, and our younger players are getting a chance to learn from and look up to them. That’s a win for everyone.”
High school players volunteer their time during the winter clinics, earning community service hours while developing leadership skills and serving as visible role models for the next generation of athletes. In return, the collaboration strengthens the connection between programs: Camden Hills players participate in FTLL’s Opening Day ceremonies, and all Little League players are invited to attend the high school’s first home game of the season, where they line the baseline to welcome the teams onto the field.
FTLL also extends its appreciation to Assistant Superintendent Jaime Stone for her leadership in helping organize student participation, as well as to the many volunteer coaches who make the clinics possible each year.
Registration for Five Town Little League’s 2026 season is currently open. Families can register for baseball and softball minors divisions through April 15, and tee-ball registration remains open through April 25. More information is available at fivetownlittleleague.org.
