Faustina (Thompson) Merry, obituary
BELFAST — Faustina (Thompson) Merry, 94, of Belfast, passed away on April 11, 2026, after living in her own home all her 94 years. She was born in Belfast on November 23, 1931, to Elmer and Mary (Bowen) Thompson. She married Ervin Merry of Belfast on April 25, 1951.When mom left this world for a better place, the last thing she saw were the faces of her three children. She is now home with her Lord and Savior, and the love of her life, our dad.
Faustina loved life! She saw good and beauty in everything and everyone. She loved to go on rides with daddy, work in her flower gardens and she ‘loved” to shop, mostly to visit with friends she would meet along the way. She babysat for many years for her grandchildren and many others, all of them calling her Grammy. She worked with her son, Jeff, at the Treasures and Trash Barn in Searsport for 26 years and was planning to again this spring.
Faustina is survived by her children, Judy (Gary) Arsenault, Jeff (Shirley) Merry and Valerie (Vernon) Nickerson. Also, her grandchildren Katie (Michael) Lee, Matthew (Ashley) Jackson, Brandi, Brodi, and Sadie Nickerson; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and her brothers, Edmund and Maynard Thompson.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Faith Temple Church on Rt. 52 in Belfast.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on her memorial wall at Ripostafh.com
