Down East Singers present Songs of the Season
Down East Singers, directed by Anthony Antolini, will present "Songs of the Season" on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., at Thomaston Federated Church, 8 Hyler Street, Thomaston, and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m., at First Congregational Church of Camden, 55 Elm Street, Camden.
The program will include violinists Sophie Davis and Luke Fatora playing Celtic fiddle music. Featured works are Buxtehude's Christmas cantata, In dulci jubilo, and Mozart's Missa Brevis in F. Celtic choral music will include The Parting Glass, with soprano soloist Emma Carpenter, and a comic version of Deck the Hall. The instrumental ensemble also includes cellist Ronan Sands and keyboardist Jennifer McIvor.
The program length is approximately one hour. Both venues are easily accessible for those with walking difficulties, according to a news release. Children are welcome.
Tickets for adults are $25; students 18 and younger can pay what they wish but they must have a ticket.
