HUBBARDSTON, Massachusetts — Dorothy C. Bunker, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Hubbardston, Massachusetts, on March 26, 2026. Though born in Boston on January 20, 1929, Dorothy always considered Matinicus Island, Maine, to be her true home.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10 a.m., at St. Bernard's Church in Rockland, Maine.

A committal service will follow the next day, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 1 p.m., at the Matinicus Island Cemetery. For those wishing to attend the island service, transportation will be provided via the MV Sunbeam. The vessel will depart from the Rockland Ferry Terminal at 10:30 a.m. and is scheduled to return at 6:30 p.m.
