Empty Bowl Supper & Silent Auction
Students in MVHS ceramics classes have spent months creating hand-built and wheel-thrown bowls, which will be sold as meal tickets for this meaningful community event. For $10, attendees receive a handcrafted bowl to keep along with a buffet-style meal featuring homemade soups, casseroles, and salads prepared by students, staff, families, and local organizations.
Proceeds from the supper will be donated to local food banks serving Waldoboro, Washington, Warren, Union, and Friendship. This project reflects MVHS’s commitment to 21st-century learning by encouraging students to engage positively with their community and develop creative solutions to meet human needs.
The evening will also include a Silent Art Auction, featuring artwork and crafts donated by staff and community members. Proceeds from the auction will support the RSU 40 Arts Boosters Fund, which helps sustain and enhance district arts programming.
Please note: Bowls and meals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Why You Matter” Portrait Exhibition
The MVHS Studio Photography program proudly presents the return of its powerful public art campaign, “Why You Matter.” Originally developed by Chelsea High School in Michigan, this project promotes belonging, self-worth, and community connection.
Now in its triennial year (2020, 2023, 2026) at MVHS, students in Advanced and Studio Photography classes, have captured over 300 portraits of students, staff, and community members. Each portrait highlights a simple but profound message: why each individual matters.
These portraits will be displayed throughout the school hallways for one night only, offering a moving visual experience that celebrates identity, kindness, and connection within the MVHS community.
Spring Concert
Following the supper and exhibition, guests are invited to the MVHS Auditorium for a Spring Concert featuring performances by the Band, Jazz Band, and Chorus, showcasing the musical talents and hard work of MVHS students. We will also be recognizing Seniors and their musical achievements.
Community Invitation
This evening is a celebration of the arts, generosity, and the strength of community. MVHS warmly welcomes families, friends, and community members to attend, support student achievement, and contribute to meaningful local causes.
Come enjoy an evening of art, music, and connection—and be reminded why every person matters.
